Welcome to our site of Margaret?s Pride kennel. Place which will bring your hearts closer to the great breed of English Cocker Spaniels.
My name is Malgorzata Kostecka. Together with my family and our cocker spaniels: Kent, Blow and Odi we live in a charming village near Krakow. Our free time we spend actively on the air in the company of our pupils, admiring the scenery of this really beautiful place.
My adventure with dogs started in 1986 when I bought a German Shepherd puppy - ARON from a friend of mine. It was a crazy idea but that was a result of my long lasting dream born in my childhood. I wanted to have a dog so much!
ARON as a typical shepherd dog was a very clever and even-tempered dog, an excellent friend and the guard of our family. We finished the PT I obedience course with an excellent result. We spent a lot of time walking and playing together.
Unfortunately a very painful moment came. When ARON was 6 years old vets diagnose the cancer of bones. That was a terrible shock for us - he was still such a young dog?.. We could not let his sufferings last. He passed away on 21 January 1992.
We all felt this empty space at home. We started to think of another four-leg friend but of a different breed. After I had read a couple of professional books about dogs we made our mind. The breeds which become the part of my life were cocker spaniels. I felled with love with them for their beauty, charming nature, independence, moderate temperament and great joy of life. The first cocker which lived with us was black and tan VILLON z Orszaku Słońca.
I cannot imagine I could have made a different choice. VILLON introduced me into the spaniels' world and let me discover the secrets of this breed. He was the one who I entered the show ring with for the first time in my life and with him I tasted the first joy of success. VILLON was the very picture of kindness and docility.
We all adored him. VILLON had been with us for 12 years. He passed away on 3 August 2004. His death was a painful moment for us but we still keep him in our hearts and believe that somewhere over the Rainbow Bridge VILLON runs across green meadows and he is happy.
KENT IN BLACK Petrs from the Czech kennel of Petr Studenik joined us in 1998.
As far as the character is concerned KENT is a complete opposite of VILLON. He is a typical "macho": proud, independent and self-confident. He likes to be pleased, though he never shows that. He is a wonderful and nice member of our household. KENT's show career had quite a brisk start. He ran through the show rings like a hurricane and won the titles of: Polish Jr. Champion, Champion of Poland, Czech and Slovakia, Junior Club Winner 1999, Club Winner 2000 and 2002 and eventually Interchampion.
After I had lost VILLON I managed to make my long lasting dream come true. I imported the black bitch DAHLIA BLACK Petrs (Blow) from Petr Studenik's kennel.
Blow is a gorgeous bitch, with charming character and a gift to observe. She loves everyone, especially children. She?s a champion of Poland and Czech Republic.
