About us
Welcome to the website of Margaret's Pride kennel. A place that will bring your hearts closer to the great breed of English Cocker Spaniel.
My name is Małgorzata Kostecka. Together with our family and our cocker spaniels we live in the magical and beautiful city of Krakow. We spend every free moment actively outside in the company of our four legged friends.
My adventure with dogs began in 1985. When I bought a German Shepherd puppy - Aron. It was a crazy idea, but also my long lasting dream.
Aron as a typical shepherd dog was a very clever and balanced dog. He was a great friend and guardian of our family. We finished the PT I obedience course with an excellent result. We have spent a lot of time having fun.
Unfortunately, when Aron was 6 years old he was diagnosed with bone cancer. It was a terrible time for our family. He passed away on January 21st 1992.
The house felt really empty and so we began to think about the next four-legged friend. After reading several professional books about dogs, the breed that took over my life was the English Cocker Spaniel. I love them for their charming nature, independence, temperament and a great joy of life.
Our first cocker spaniel was VILLON from the Orszak Słońca Kennel.
Nowadays I can't imagine a better choice. Villon introduced me to the world of spaniels, allowed me to discover the secrets of his breed. With him I started doing dog shows and tasted the first joys of my successes. Villon was the personification of dog's kindness and gentleness.
We all loved him very much. He has been with us for 12 years. He passed away on August 3, 2004. Till this day we keep him dearly in our hearts and we believe that he runs happily across the green meadows behind the rainbow bridge.
In 1998 we welcomed KENT IN BLACK Petrs. He was completely the opposite of Villon's character. A typical alpha male: proud, independent and confident. He was a wonderful household member. Kent's dog show career began quite quickly. Running through the rings like a hurricane. He won many the titles including: Junior Champion of Poland, Junior Club Winner '99, adult Champion of Poland, Czech and Slovakia, Club Winner '00 and 02, and finally Interchampion.
Later on we welcomed another member form the Czech kennel, a black girl - DAHLIA Black Petrs (Blow).
Blow (now a veteran) is a great dog, she has a charming character and is extremely perceptive. She loves everyone, especially children. In 2008, with the birth of her first offspring, she initiated the existence of our kennel.
